Solar panels turn sunlight into clean, usable electricity for your home. When the sun shines on the panels, they capture the energy and send it through a device called an inverter, which converts it into power you can use for your lights, appliances, and more.
What are Solar Panels?
Any extra energy can be stored in batteries or sold back to the grid. It’s a simple, reliable way to lower your energy costs and reduce your carbon footprint—just by using the power of the sun. No fuel, no noise, just clean energy every day.
What to expect
Solar panel installations typically take 1 to 3 days to complete. The process involves minimal disruption to your household routine, as the majority of the work is done outdoors on the roof or in areas like the garage. Brief power outages may occur during the grid connection, but these are usually short and infrequent. Installers will need access to your electrical unit, inside and outside your home, and your electricity supply.
Scaffolding will be erected a couple of days before and removed a few days after the main installation.
Why Go Solar?
- Reduced Electricity Bills – solar panels convert sunlight into electricity, which can be used to power household appliances and lighting, thus reducing or even eliminating reliance on the grid and lowering electricity bills.
- Potential for Income Generation – with a solar PV system, you can sell any excess electricity generated back to the grid through the Smart Export Guarantee scheme, potentially earning money on the electricity you don’t use.
- Environmental Benefits – solar power is a clean, renewable energy source, meaning it doesn’t produce greenhouse gas emissions or contribute to climate change like traditional fossil fuels.
- Increased Property Value – homes with solar panels are often seen as more attractive to potential buyers, particularly those who are environmentally conscious, and can lead to a higher sale price.
- Energy Independence – by generating your own electricity, solar panels can reduce your reliance on the grid, making you less susceptible to price fluctuations and potential power outages.
- Low Maintenance – solar panels are relatively low maintenance and require minimal upkeep. They typically come with a warranty, and cleaning with a hosepipe is usually sufficient.

Battery Storage
Battery storage is a system that stores electricity for later use, typically using rechargeable lithium-ion batteries. In solar setups, it stores excess energy generated during the day so you can use it at night or during power outages. This helps reduce reliance on the grid and lowers electricity bills.
The battery storage system is typically installed on an exterior wall near the main electrical panel and typically takes between half a day and two days to install.
We only offer battery storage systems with solar panels to ensure proper system integration and efficiency. Batteries work best when charged by solar energy, reducing reliance on the grid. Installing both together ensures compatibility, maximises energy savings, and meets warranty, safety, and performance standards.
Benefits of battery storage:
- Sell your energy back to the grid – store solar energy when it’s being generated, and sell it back to the grid during peak demand periods to take advantage of higher rates.
- Store your energy for later – any surplus electricity you generate can be stored for later use or redirected elsewhere in your home—helping to minimise energy waste.
- Lower your dependence on the grid – by using energy you’ve stored yourself, you reduce the need to draw electricity from the grid, which can lead to noticeable cost savings.
- Cut your carbon footprint – utilising clean, renewable energy helps decrease your home’s carbon dioxide emissions, contributing to a more sustainable future.
